In December of 2009 Real Energy Solutions (RES) developed a 16.56kW system for AT&T Mobility at a cell site in Hood River OR. The installation is part of an Energy Efficiency and Energy Reduction program for AT&T Mobility. They are ‘putting the site on a diet!’
The system has an estimated life span of 30+ years with an annual production of approximately 19,873kWh/year. The system will offset 28.23% of the cell site’s energy consumption. RES collaborated with local contractor, Common Energy as the installer who provided Sustainable and Green Building strategies. The system used 72 SolarWorld 230 Solar Electric Panels manufactured in Portland Or. The installation design included a support roof which will decrease overall energy demand of the conditioned base station shelter. All lumber materials used for the construction were grown and milled within 25 miles of the site. No lumber went to the landfill, all metal products (manufactured in Portland OR) were re-used or recycled, scraps that had construction value were donated to the Gorge Re Build-Center in Hood River and only 2 garbage cans of waste were generated in the completion of this project.
